During the bridal preparation, I noticed my bride do a similar position whilst she was getting ready, so when I had the opportunity to do some bridal portraiture shots, I told her what I witnessed and we recreated this look.
Before the couple descended into the vehicle to there happily ever after, I noticed the champagne glasses just naturally laid out with the bottle of Prosecco, all ready for the couple to toast there new married live.
There is an element of elegance when it comes to photographing the bridal preparation. I love the challenge of looking beyond what is in front of you and turning this elegant moment into a form of fine art in order to create an impact with my images.
This was taken during my very first weddings and I must admit, it is still one of my favourites today after so many years. I love the way he is holding his new bride and the expression on his face of desire. The monochrome and a slight vignette enhances the effect of desire in the image.
Photojournalism is telling a story with a picture, reporting with a camera, recording a moment in time, the fleeting instant when an image sums up a story. The monochrome effect creates surrealism and beauty which colour would distract from this dreamy look.
